In early 2012, Irene's former producer Rupert Bopape wrote this song for her, the sad lament of a woman named Mapule about her selfish husband Tirekere. Though in delicate health, the ex-music executive was able to join Irene in the studio to add his famous brand of poetic spoken word. Bopape died in July 2012 aged 86, making this the very last collaboration between the two prolific music makers.
